Vladimir Amzăr is a 25-year-old Director of Photography based in Bucharest, Romania, who recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Cinematography from the renowned UNATC Film School. While his primary focus is on cinematography, he also works as a photographer and has cultivated a strong understanding of directing and acting coaching through workshops with Adrian Titeni and Ana Pasti.

His passion for cinematography and the pursuit of his unique visual style began in high school when he developed an interest in photography. In 10th grade, he participated in a feature film as a set photographer, immersing himself in a professional filming environment. After sharing his work with acclaimed Director of Photography Marius Panduru RSC, he was encouraged to pursue his studies in Cinematography.

From 2018 to 2020, Vladimir gained valuable experience at Saga Film, a prominent production company in Bucharest, where he worked as a second camera assistant, enhancing his professionalism and technical knowledge. During his time at UNATC, he had the opportunity to experiment with various aesthetics and filming styles, enriching the storytelling of his projects. These student projects challenged him to embrace creativity and find innovative solutions with limited resources, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and teamwork.

Vladimir also explored directing and production design, gaining insights into creating expressive and coherent sets and costumes that align with character personalities. As a visual artist, he believes in the importance of versatility and aims to develop multiple facets of his craft. Currently, he collaborates with various production companies on diverse film projects, commercials, and online and television productions, building a rich and varied portfolio that includes clients ranging from local businesses to major brands.
